Optimum Car Wax is perhaps one of the most effective spray on wax options. When assessing a product to use for protection, we typically rate it on four levels, ease of application, durability, looks and value. Optimum has a winner with their spray on Car Wax formula. It could be argued that this is one of the easiest ways to wax your car. The product goes on easily, spreads thin and can be buffed to a streak free shine effortlessly. When it comes to shine, Optimum Car Wax leaves behind a nice warm glow and adds a nice layer of gloss in minutes. When it comes to durability, many people think spray on waxes will not hold up. Optimum Car Wax is designed to be more durable than other liquid wax options, lasting anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months (depending on what environmental conditions the vehicle is exposed to). When it comes to value, the bang for the buck factor on this wax is excellent. For under $20, this is an excellent product to have on hand, especially if you like to use a sealant or coating as an underlying layer of protection. Optimum Car Wax is the perfect product to apply just after a wash to give your paint some added protection and some extra gloss in a matter of minutes.
From a Professional Detailing Perspective
As a professional detailer, it’s great to have a product available to you that you can use to protect a vehicle in a short period of time. Quite often, your plans on a detail may change and you may elect to perform an additional step to please the customer. This being the case, having a go-to spray on wax handy will allow you to do what you need to do and protect the vehicle in a short period of time. For maintenance washes, Optimum Car Wax is an excellent follow up to add some gloss and protection. One place I’ve found OCW works great is to add protection to door jambs and rain channels, especially on vehicles that you maintain regularly.

How-to apply Optimum Car Wax
Optimum Car Wax is a very easy product to use. We find it is best to use two separate microfiber towels during the application process. We use one towel to apply the product and a second one to wipe to a streak free finish. Begin by folding each microfiber towel into fourths, giving you 8 clean sections per towel. Finely mist the product into your applying towel. Use as little of the product as necessary to evenly cover the area you are working on. The less amount of product used the better. Any excess product will clog up your wiping towel faster; will waste product and more importantly – waste your money. Gently wipe the surface you are protecting with your application towel. Continue applying the product until an entire panel is protected. Once a given panel or area is covered, use your second towel to lightly buff to a streak free finish. That is all there is to it!
