Interlagos BMW M3 vs 2-step Scholl’s S3 Gold & S40
After reading about Scholl’s polishes, I’ve always wanted to give them a shot. I got my hands on some and immediately sought out the perfect candidate to test what these polishes are capable of. Luckily, that same week I was contacted by someone who picked up a 2011 BMW M3 in Interlagos Blue and they wanted the car properly detailed in preparation for a photo shoot. The car clearly needed some correction after looking at it, there were water spots, swirls and scratches throughout.
The Scholl’s S3 Gold on a Griot’s buffer, speed 5 with around 30 pounds of pressure was correcting 90%+ of the imperfections and leaving a remarkable finish. On some paint, the S3 Gold would finish down just fine, ready for a last step product, however we wanted the paint to just glow so we decided to follow up with Scholl’s finest polish, S40. Applying the S40 on a black Lake Country finishing pad enhanced the gloss and depth even further, leaving behind a jaw dropping finish. One thing that I really like about the Scholl’s products is that they are relatively easy to remove and do not dust much when applied properly. S40 leaves behind a squeeky clean finish, which I personally enjoy in a finishing polish.
We decided to top this detail off with some Dodo Juice Supernatural to extract even more depth and gloss. The owner was thrilled with the results and he told us that the photographer never saw a car gleam so much.
I am thankful to have had the assistance of George Dushensky for this Presidential Level Service, it was a fun car to work on!
